According to a recent ranking by the Venture Capital Research Center of Zero2ipo, a famous researcher and consultant of venture capital in Greater China concerning intermediaries of Chinese enterprises listed overseas, CCB International was ranked the 9th among global investment banks and the first among its Chinese counterparts in terms of total underwriting transactions in 2005. Three indicators were used in the ranking, i.e., the number of IPOs, financing amount and the number of enterprises listed with venture capital support. The ranking was conducted by weighted calculation of the three indicators. CCB International actively expanded its business of debt financing arrangements in the Asia-Pacific Region in spite of fierce competition. It completed the underwriting of 19 syndicated loans in 2006, with a total amount of USD1.826 billion, increasing from the 14 loans and USD1.086 billion in 2005.
In 2006, CCB International participated in 10 Hong Kong IPOs in the capacity of co-manager or co-lead manager, raising funds of over HK$10 billion. It also took part in three projects as financial advisor. All those events have enhanced the influence of CCB International in the international market. In 2006 CCB International extended its scale of assets management and started the business of direct investment, with returns of 31.5% and 175% respectively for the two domains. It also prepared to establish funds for direct investment in private placement and for securities investment.
